Fred's Fun Run is hosted by Fred and Joanne Weller in Tucson, Arizona. It is held on Friday and Saturday of the first weekend of November each year. 2008 was the 9th anniversary of the event.

This was our first time at Fred's, and I must say Kathy and I will make it a yearly outing from now on. We had a great time and the Weller's and Lynn Eldred were wonderful hosts.

We borrowed an enclosed trailer to pull the T, and stayed at a Holliday Inn in Tucson. The hotel was great, pleanty of parking for the trailer, and the drive from San Diego couldn't have been easier. Takes about 8 hours including breaks. There are numerous places along the way to get gas and food with easy access. During our entire trip I never once had to back the trailer. In short, there is no reason not to see you there also next year.

Friday morning, Lynn and Dennis and Carolyn drove around to the individual locations where we were all staying, gathered the group and then we all followed them to the 5 and Diner parking lot - the launching spot for all the Fun Run activities.
We stopped at the 5 and Diner parking lot for a short break, and then left to drive up to the lunch area on Mt. Lemon. It was a very scenic drive, took an hour or perhaps a little more, and we climbed to an altitude of 9000 ft. or so.

I believe we drove up to 9000 ft. before getting to where we stopped for lunch. Fred and co. had been at the site for quite some time setting up and preparing to feed everyone. It was a very nice day for a drive, but a little chilly due to the altitude. Still the sky was blue, there was gas in the tank, and pleanty of hot dogs, burgers and lots of goodies were waiting.

Time for lunch.

On Saturday morning, Lynn, Dennis and Carolyn once again came out to round everyone up, and we all followed them back to the 5 and Diner, where we spent the day. The weather was perfect, and the 5 and Diner was great for drinks, snacks or meals. If I remember correctly we had both breakfast and lunch there on Saturday.

About 65 T's showed up, as well as maybe a dozen other vintage cars such as Model A's and the like.

Among the day's activities were the Poker Run, which went up into the hills around Tucson.........
and the Lipstick Run for Ladies only.

We even had Elvis to entertain in the evening,

and a "T-bucket" wedding.

Congratulations and best of luck to the newlyweds.

In all, we saw lots of T-buckets, met many nice people, and had a simply wonderful time.

Lynn Eldred picked everyone up in the morning, made sure that all of us got back to our respective hotels in the evening, and ensured that no one got lost during the day. We want to sincerely thank him for all his efforts,

and trust me - we WILL be back next year.

Thanks Fred, Joanne, and all those that helped put on Fred's Fun Run 2008.
