I'll try to add pictures and descriptions of the 2008 Fun Run and previous runs as I have time, but for the moment, here's a description of the two day event as emailed around by Jim Frost of Arizona.
Hi Guys,

What a weekend over on the coast! This years 101 Run was a gas! There was a little over 30 T's that made the run on Saturday to Julian. If you don't know where Julian is, it is about 70 miles east of Oceanside up in the mountains! The town is known for Apples and mining!

Friday night was the Cruisin' Grand in Escondido.
If you have not experienced this cruise you are missing one of the best in the country. In fact the Cruisin' Grand has been voted THE BEST IN CALIFORNIA! They have 2 live bands, one on each end of the cruise and a DJ in the middle. Plus All kinds of restaurants and shopping. So-Cal T's reserved a side street for the tbuckets. So we got to park as a group. Our street was a big hit with the public.
It was such a big hit that our very own Bill Stevenson won one of the awards that the city of Escondido gives out! We got there about 4:30 pm (80 degrees) and left about 9:30 pm (65 degrees, eat your hearts out we were wearing COATS in AUGUST!). As you can imagination we saw some beautiful California cars! I wish we could get downtown Glendale to sponsor a cruse like this.
Saturday was the run up to Julian
We all met in Oceanside at 8:00 am (65 degrees) (coats again). The trip started by the ocean, went thru wine country up to apple country. I am not sure of the altitude but is was above the snow line! We spent 2 1/2 hours there to soak up the mountain air, have lunch and let the ladies shop! Good thing we were in the buckets, because it limited Kathy & Candi on their shopping! Ray and I found the Court House (right out of Mayberry RFD), so we had a seat on the bench and kept an eye out for Andy & Barney! We were going to go to the old barber shop to see Floyd the barber but it was closed!

When we left Julian we went a different way back that took us by the Wild Animal Park and into Solana Beach. From there we cruised up the 101 to Encinitas for diner. We had diner at Brett's BBQ.

By the time we got back to our condo, we had driven over 200 miles. Let me tell you what, OUR BUTTS were sore! So sore that Sunday morning the tbuckets said, Oh Hell No, when we need to run some errands!

Next year I hope that more of us from AZ can go over and enjoy the great job that Dennis Mahar and the So-Cal T's do on their Fun Run!
